For the second year the re:publica and the International Garden Exhibition (IGA) are having a cooperation on the subject “Digitizing the Greenery”. In 2016 it featured students from the Humboldt University using digital microscopy to “digitize the greenery” and bring microorganisms straight to you, the visitors, at the “IGA Oasis”. The cooperation is expanding this year with an collaborative event series starting in spring.
We’re looking forward to getting out into the greenery in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf borough of Berlin. That means that, next to Digitizing the Greenery track at the re:publica in May, there will be five symposia held at the Wolkenhain between April and August. The topics range from “Urban Exodus of the Nerds”, “Sensor Journalism: How Animals and Objects Become Reporters” to “Urban Blogging”.
The first event will take place on April 27th, shortly after the opening of the IGA on April 13th. After that, the events continue on May 25th, June 29th, July 27th and, finally, on August 31st.
About the IGA:
Berlin gets Green – International Garden Exhibition (IGA) Berlin 2017
Under the banner of “An OCEAN of colors”, the International Garden Exhibition invites visitors to join them in Berlin from April 13th to October 15th, 2017. The IGA aims to make international garden design come alive on the exhibition grounds surrounding the Gardens of the World in Marzahn-Hellersdorf and the newly created Kienbergpark, thereby helping provide new impulses for contemporary urban development and a green lifestyle. We’re especially looking forward to Berlin’s first cabin cable car! #IGA2017
